A famous Brazilian female influencer died in an accident while undergoing liposuction surgery. Football star Neymar also expressed his condolences over the influencer’s death.

According to foreign media on the 9th, Brazilian model and influencer Luana Andrade (29) suffered cardiac arrest two and a half hours later while undergoing knee liposuction surgery at a hospital in Sao Paulo on the 6th.

Medical staff administered first aid and transferred the patient to the intensive care unit for treatment. However, Andrade was pronounced dead from pulmonary embolism on the morning of the 7th.

The hospital said that the influencer received the procedure from a privately hired doctor and anesthesiologist.

Andrade is an influencer who is mainly active on Instagram and has over 500,000 followers. She has also worked as a fashion model and broadcaster, and was so popular in Brazil that she owned her own clothing brand.

Joao Haddad, Andrade’s boyfriend, said on his Instagram, “A part of me is gone. I am having the biggest nightmare. “You were not only my girlfriend, but also a partner who transcended life, and you will continue to be that way,” he expressed his sadness.

Brazilian soccer star Neymar also expressed his condolences. “Today is a day with very bad news: the death of my friend,” Neymar said. “I offer my condolences to the entire family and hope that God welcomes Luana with open arms,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, concerns are being raised about influencers undergoing frequent medical procedures to achieve the perfect body appearance.

“I lost a friend today because of a simple cosmetic surgery,” said Brazilian professional surfer Gabriel Medina. “We have other ways to look younger, healthier and more beautiful.”

He raised his voice, saying, “The unattainable ‘perfect’ body standards displayed through Instagram and media must quickly disappear,” adding, “This fake world will cause more and more young people to die.”
