When a star appears on the screen, fans shoot fireworks into the air.
Chaos covered in flames and smoke… Cheering and video shooting
Indian movie theaters continue with dangerous fireworks shows by extreme fans
On Sunday night, many audiences went to the movie theater to watch their favorite star’s new movie. However, the fun outing turned into hell due to the reckless behavior of thoughtless fans who staged a fireworks show indoors.
On the 13th (local time), foreign media, including local Indian media outlet The Times of India (TOI), reported a firecracker accident that occurred the previous day at a movie theater in Malegaon, a city in Maharashtra, western India.
At the time of the accident, many audiences filled the theater to see the new film by Bollywood star Salman Khan. However, when Khan’s image appeared on the screen, some fans in the first floor auditorium began shooting firecrackers into the air.
In the video shared on social media (SNS), the auditorium was instantly covered with flames and smoke along with a popping sound. The scene turned into chaos as shocked audience members screamed and ran to the exit. Meanwhile, some audience members cheered, and people were also seen taking videos with smartphones on the second floor.
Ultimately, the screening of the film was stopped, and local police began an investigation. Fortunately, it is reported that there were no casualties. “A complaint has been filed against unidentified people who set off firecrackers,” police said.
Salman Khan, the star of the film, urged fans to exercise restraint. Khan posted on social media, “I heard there were fireworks at the movie theater. This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the movie without putting ourselves and others at risk. “Let’s be careful about safety,” he posted.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that fans have staged dangerous events in Indian movie theaters. Even in 2021, fans set off fireworks indoors after the release of Salman Khan’s new film, and even then, Khan asked them to refrain through his statement. In October of this year, audience members set off fireworks during a screening of another star, Shahrukh Khan’s film.
