Brigitte Macron (70), wife of French President Emmanuel Macron (45), revealed the story behind her marriage to her husband who is 25 years younger than her. Brigitte first met President Macron at her school when she was 15 years old.
According to the British daily newspaper The Times on the 17th (local time), Brigitte confessed in a recent interview with Paris Match that she had postponed her marriage to President Macron for 10 years for the sake of the lives of her three children.
When President Macron was 15 years old, he attended a private school in Amiens, France, and fell in love with Brigitte, who was a teacher at the time. The love between a 40-year-old married teacher and a student caused controversy in the region, and President Macron’s parents sent him to Paris to study.
“It was a mess in my head,” Brigitte said of the situation at the time. “I told myself that Macron would fall in love with someone his age. But that didn’t happen,” she said.
President Macron is said to have persistently courted Brigitte even while studying abroad in Paris.
“The only obstacle was my children,” said Bridget. “I took 10 years to make sure I didn’t ruin their lives. “I can imagine what my children must have heard, but I didn’t want to miss out on my life,” she said.
Brigitte had three children with her ex-husband, Andre-Louis Ozier, who was a banker. Brigitte eventually divorced her husband, Ozier, in 2006 before marrying President Macron, who was her young civil servant, the following year.
“Not a day goes by that he doesn’t surprise me,” Bridget said of her current marriage. “I’ve never seen such a memory, such an intellect. I had many outstanding students, but none had the same ability as him. “I have always respected President Macron,” he said.
Brigitte also shared the story of welcoming President Macron and state guests from around the world as First Lady.
In particular, he said of U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who visited the Elysee Palace in France in 2017, “Mrs. Melania Trump was very sweet,” and “But Mrs. Melania Trump was holding her husband tightly,” adding, “During the dinner, Mrs. Melania Trump A tap on the clock made President Trump realize that it was time to get up and leave. President Trump obeyed. “Melania had a strong personality,” he said.
