A young Ukrainian couple who married after proposing in an underground bomb shelter during the Russian-Ukrainian war was killed in a Russian bombing raid before their first wedding anniversary.
According to the Washington Post on the 22nd (local time), Daniler Kovalenko (22) and Diana Khaidukova (19), who lived as a couple in Ukraine, were recently killed in an airstrike on their apartment by the Russian military.
They met on a dating app, and it was Diana who sent the message first. Diana reportedly began dating Danilo because he “looked like her favorite character” with his blonde hair and angular chin. The two met, went for a walk, had dinner, and grew in love during the war.

Danilo proposed to Diana while he was spending the night in a shelter due to Russian bombing. They registered their marriage less than four months after their first date.
Danilo dreamed of becoming a musician. He had a great sense of humor and he composed and performed in Russian or Ukrainian. Diana was active in everything and while working in a cafe, she dreamed of becoming a graphic designer. She always spread her positive energy to those around her, and during her teenage years she even competed in K-pop dance competitions with her cousin.

Their funeral was held ahead of their first wedding anniversary. The day they died, October 16, was exactly one month before their first wedding anniversary. It is said that the cremated remains of those who have been cremated will be scattered in a meaningful location by their friends.
