A group of tourists experienced a truly frightening moment on a quiet day of whale watching off the coast of Mexico. It was that unknowingly, the driver of the boat where 20 people were moving did not see the back of a whale that had bitten him and after it collided, the boat literally flew away.

The shocking video also shows some passengers thrown into the sea. Reported to be caused by the collision five wounded -three of them were children- with three hospitalized and one reported seriously injured in the incident, the Undersecretary of Civil Protection of the Mexican state of Baja California Southern.

Local reports confirmed that an investigation was underway to find out why the tourist boat does not maintain a safe distance between whales, and reports suggest that the ship exceeded the speed limit.

The undersecretary of the state Civil Protection, Benjamin Garciaconfirmed that it was a tourist boat, and the captain would not have been able to observe the Humpback Whale which is under water. “The whale came out of the sea and that is when it pushed the boat, the passengers fell and resulted in injuries. Three people were hospitalized, one of them was serious, and we treated two more at the port ”, he explained.

The official said the boat was on a tourist tour in the bay, in the Holy Spirit Island area and on the disaster returned to the port of La Paz. Environmental authorities conduct corresponding proceedings to determine responsibilities for possible damage to the organism and prepare an official report.
