“It took 10 years to become a full-time delivery driver…I worked in a warehouse for the first 6 years.”

A delivery driver for the American logistics company UPS is becoming a hot topic by posting his pay stub on social media.

According to Business Insider on the 11th (local time), the salary statement disclosure video posted by Skyler Stutzman, a UPS delivery driver working in Oregon, on the social media platform ‘TikTok’ last October, was viewed more than 12 million times.

Stutzman showed his latest pay stub in the video and said, “I earned a total pre-tax income of $2,004 (about 2.63 million won) in one week.” He earned about $1,300 (about 1.7 million won) for 42 hours of work after taxes and deductions. This works out to $44.26 (about 58,000 won) per hour.

Many people who left comments on the video expressed their shock at the fact that they were paid less than courier delivery drivers. “I got my degree and worked in this field for 20 years and I never knew UPS drivers made more than me,” one commenter wrote.

Another commenter said, “I work at a nursing home and only get paid $14.55 (about 19,000 won) per hour,” adding, “I really like my job, but the pay is not good.”

“I didn’t want to reveal my pay stubs in a rude way,” Stutzman said in the video. “I like it when content creators working in a variety of fields disclose and share their salaries.”

Thanks to his sincerity, the video received over 770,000 likes, and many people left comments saying they were planning to apply for a job at UPS.

However, Stutzman explained, “It took me 10 years to become a full-time delivery driver,” and “I first joined the company in 2008 and worked in the warehouse for almost six years.”

He added, “It can take more than four years for delivery driver wages to reach peak levels.” Some commenters pointed out that “10 years is almost the same time it takes to become a doctor.”
