A 4-month-old baby who was swept away by a 240 km/h tornado in Tennessee, USA, was found on a tree and miraculously survived.
According to foreign media such as People on the 12th (local time), a tornado that swept through Clarksville, Tennessee on the 9th struck the house where Sidney Moore (22) and his family lived.
At the time, Sydney Moore was at home with her two children, aged 1 year and 4 months, and her boyfriend, the children’s father.
“My boyfriend said he heard an airplane,” Moore said. “It was only after my 1-year-old son and I were already in the air that I heard the tornado warning siren.”
A tornado suddenly struck with a loud roar, instantly destroying the mobile home where Moore was living and blowing off the roof.
At the time, Moore ran and covered her 1-year-old son with her body to prevent him from flying away. However, the 4-month-old baby in the cradle flew into the air. Moore’s boyfriend tried to grab the baby, but was swept away as well.
Moore and her 1-year-old baby escaped the wreckage and survived. Moore and her boyfriend began searching for their 4-month-old son, who fortunately found them quickly.
But the 4-month-old baby disappeared. After searching around the house for 10 minutes, they miraculously found the baby lying on a tree. “The father found the child up in a tree as if someone had put him down,” Moore said. “I don’t know how the child survived.”
He continued, “The child was not seriously injured other than a small wound on the side of the face,” adding, “I guess it was God’s work.”
Moore’s family is currently staying in a temporary hotel after losing everything in the tornado. After this story was told, the local community has been providing diapers and powdered milk for them.
Additionally, $19,000 (about 24 million won) has been raised on the donation platform so far for Moore’s family.
