The ‘Whiskey Run’ event, which sells limited edition whiskey, includes three types of Japanese whiskey such as ‘Yamazaki 12 Year Old’ and ‘Hibiki Harmony’, and ‘Balvenie 16 Year Old French Oak’, whose resale prices are soaring due to recent shortages. 7-Eleven introduced 2,000 bottles of 8 types of limited edition whiskeys at 2pm on this day. There are four stores for the event, including the Sogong branch in Seoul, the Challenge Store branch in Jamsil-dong, The Stephen Cheongdam branch in Cheongdam-dong, and the Doseon Cafe branch in Doseon-dong. 2023.5.25/News 1

Japanese whiskey prices will rise significantly starting next spring due to rising raw material and logistics costs.

According to local media such as Jiji News and Bloomberg on the 21st, Asahi Beer, which produces Nikka Whiskey, announced the day before that it would increase the prices of 17 brands and 68 items by up to 62% from April 1 next year.

In addition, he explained, “We have made active facility investments in the Nikka Whiskey Hokkaido factory’s Yoichi Distillery and Miyagikyo Distillery, but we need to increase production facilities in the future to ensure a stable supply of products and improve quality.”
