“Diplomatic relations themselves, of course, are not some kind of totem to be worshiped,” Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said of a possible break in ties.

He argued that the “trigger” for such a step would be “asset confiscation,” or “further military escalation”.

“I’m just saying this to make it clear that we are prepared for any scenario. The United States should not delude itself into thinking that Russia is clinging to diplomatic relations with that country, which “are in a coma,” Riabkov said in an interview with the Interfax news agency.

The warning is known on the same day Ukraine managed to shoot down three million-dollar fighter jets SU-34, the jewel of the Russian Air Force. And this also coincided with the US president signing a decree that will allow sanctions to be imposed on foreign banks that support Russia’s war efforts in Ukraine, the White House said.

More sanctions

According to the government, the measure would authorize the United States to issue “secondary sanctions” against financial institutions that support the Russian defense industry.

It is about “further strengthening control over the Russian war machine”. and on those who make it work,” US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan commented in a statement.

“We are sending an unmistakable message: anyone who supports Russia’s illegal war effort risks losing access to the American financial system,” he added.

“Our sanctions and restrictions have had a significant impact on Russia’s ability to replace the equipment, materials and technology it needs to fuel its aggression (against Ukraine). “They weakened the Russian resistance,” Sullivan said.

The European Union, in turn, together with Washington, is finalizing an urgent project to continue financing Ukraine with part of the $300 billion frozen in the foreign accounts of the Russian Central Bank.

It is because the Republicans, on the orders of Donald Trump, Putin’s ally, games blocked in Kiev and the EUthe same step was taken by Hungarian Viktor Orban, who also supports Russian military aggression.

On the front, the crash of the three Russian fighter jets occurred in the southern part of the country, according to Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk. “Today, heading south, minus three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers!” the Air Force report indicated. Each bomb shot down costs close to 40 million dollars and they are considered particularly sophisticated devices, the most powerful and advanced fighters in the Russian Air Force. Last May, Ukraine also managed to deal a heavy blow to Moscow by shooting down several Russian warplanes, including a Su-35 like those hit in the last few hours.
