1) A space in pastel tones. If the living room has many windows and white walls, the ideal is to opt for a neutral base for the furniture. The color can go to the armchairs: the smooth covering will always be welcome to freely choose the cushions. In this sense, pastel and light tones, such as baby pink, sky blue and pale beige, offer more combination alternatives than a brightly colored armchair such as orange or purple.

2) Minimalist details. A coffee table or sideboard with simple lines and an essential design will allow you to include any other more sophisticated piece of furniture in the future, without losing harmony in the environment. The most practical materials to combine: light woods, such as oak or beech. An art book or medium vase will complete the setup of that space.

3) Small objects. Cushions, paintings, posters, letters, fabric garlands and small accessories such as photo frames will always add warmth and personality to a room. A plant fiber carpet will also be the perfect complement to create a fresh and relaxed space. But if you want to add a colorful detail, an armchair with printed upholstery and a “more playful” rug will give the finishing touch.

4) Personalized vases. Even a green space with indoor plants of different heights will be a good resource for generating a feeling of well-being and oxygenating the environment. The vases: of different sizes, shapes and recycled materials (bottles, cans, baskets, an old wheel rim) or of reused plant origin (dug trunks and even an old drawer will give a unique and personal style to that corner.

5) Lighting. A well-lit house is a house of peace. According to the art of feng shui, the brighter the rooms, the more they convey tranquility. How to make light the protagonist? It must be based on a distribution that allows circulation: do not place excessive furniture or include non-functional elements that obstruct passage. In order for the light to flow through, you also need to clean the windows and use translucent curtains to filter it. Choosing a light base on floors, walls and furniture also helps the light to expand.

6) The rough touch. The “raw” trend is a concept that arises from the search for a natural, healthy lifestyle that connects with the roots. Although it started with gastronomy, it quickly expanded to home decoration. It is based on a commitment to natural and untreated materials, such as stone, 100% natural fabrics or eco-friendly paints. The substance: a more natural home is also a healthier home.

7) Room tricks. It is known that if a room does not receive a lot of natural light, it will appear smaller. Some ideas: choose white for both the ceiling and at least three walls and add white to the curtains too. For the floor – especially if it is made of dark wood – a light-toned carpet will create a feeling of greater brightness and warmth.
