In America there is one of the best countries to live in (Canada), one of the great world powers (the United States) and a series of low- and middle-income nations.

With a median income close to $10,000 by 2022, Latin America includes countries where per capita income is double (Uruguay) or slightly higher (Argentina). But also to nations where poverty exceeds the average rate of 30%.

An NGO report details what Countries with the worst quality of life. It also explains the main reasons why development is elusive for much of the region.
