According to CnEV Post, a Chinese electric vehicle media outlet, on the 28th, ‘Xiaomi EV’, an electric vehicle company under Xiaomi, posted an actual photo of its first electric vehicle ‘SU7’ on Weibo ahead of the electric vehicle technology event that day.

Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, explained, “The SU in the model name stands for ‘Speed Ultra,’ which means that this vehicle will deliver powerful performance.”

He added, “SU7 was not designed to chase down a specific competitor, but was inspired by extensive user research and designed to meet the diverse needs of customers.”

The SU7 in the released photo catches the eye with its bright ‘Gulf Blue’ color. It features a triangular-shaped headlight at the front and a single row of taillights at the rear, and a variable electric spoiler is installed at the end of the trunk.

According to data submitted to the authorities, the SU7 is a mid-to-large sedan with a total length of 4,997 mm, a total width of 1,963 mm, a total height of 1,440 mm, and an axle distance of 3,000 mm. As a power device, you can choose a battery with a capacity of 73.6 kWh (kilowatt hour) and 101 kHw, and the driving distance when fully charged is said to be up to 800 km.

CEO Lei Jun said in an interview with Chinese media outlet CCTV earlier this month, “We have high expectations for our first model and entered the electric vehicle manufacturing industry with the goal of winning.”

SU7 is scheduled to be officially launched in China in January next year.
