IDF “Children put explosives in vegetable bags and transport them to other places”
“Inducing hatred against Jews… “I received military training at school.”
Fox News reported on the 3rd (local time) that the Palestinian armed political factions Hamas and Islamic Jihad (PIJ) are using children in their war against Israel.
PIJ is smaller than Hamas and participated in a surprise attack in southern Israel on October 7 last year.
According to reports, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed through recently obtained data, videos, and photos that these organizations will mobilize children for war in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli military told Fox News that the materials recently confiscated from Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, were recent and that “circumstances were revealed that minors were involved in terrorist activities.”
The Israeli military then presented one of the examples of exploitation, saying, “Children are transporting explosives in vegetable bags to other places under the direction of Hamas.”
Hamas invaded southern Israel on October 7 last year, killing more than 1,200 people, including more than 30 Americans, and taking more than 240 hostage.
The Israeli military said, “About 170 minors in the Gaza Strip are assisting Hamas and Islamic Jihad in their terrorist activities,” and added, “Hamas is encouraging children to hate Israel and Jews. “They are receiving military training that includes theory at schools and summer camps,” he said.
The Israeli military reported that it had confirmed through photos that child soldiers were holding weapons such as machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs).
The Israeli military said, “Hamas is teaching children in summer camps how to use firearms, attack in tunnels, fight tanks and kidnap soldiers,” adding, “Summer camps are the initial stage of military training to raise children into Hamas members.” “It’s a step,” he explained.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child prohibits the conscription of anyone under the age of 18.
