MOSCOW, April 28 (EFE)- Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that heavy weapons deliveries to Ukraine by European countries threaten the security of the continent.
“The trend to fill Ukraine and other countries with weapons threatens the security of the continent and causes instability,” the Kremlin communications official said at a daily press conference.
Earlier, Russia had declared that it would consider weapons supplied to Ukraine by the West as “legitimate targets” for the Armed Forces.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov this week accused NATO of “fighting Russia by proxy and arming that mandate with reference to Ukraine”.
Moscow also criticized the delivery of Russian helicopters to Afghanistan to Kiev.
“It grossly violates international law and related Russian-American conventions,” said a statement released by the Russian Military-Technical Cooperation Service.
