The head of Lebanon’s Iranian-backed Hezbollah movement said Friday that the response against Israel the death of Hamas number two, Saleh al-Arouri, in a southern suburb of Beirut, will be “inevitable”.

“It would be more dangerous to remain silent than face the repercussions of our response,” Nasrallah added. “The battlefield will speak. And the battlefield cannot wait,” said the Lebanese leader, an ally of Hamas and Iran.
Saleh Al Aruri and six other Hamas officials were killed on Tuesday in an attack blamed on Israel on a headquarters of the Palestinian Islamic movement, an ally of Hezbollah.
This is the first attack to hit the Lebanese capital since the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza began on October 7.
HeyIsrael did not claim responsibility for the attack, but it was blamed by Hamas, Hezbollah and the Lebanese government. A US defense official also said that “this was an Israeli attack”.
“We cannot remain silent in the face of a breach of this magnitude, because it would mean that all of Lebanon would be exposed in the future,” Nasrallah said.
“Our fighters in all border areas (…) will respond to this dangerous violation,” he added.
The clash intensifies
Since the clashes began between Israel and Hezbollah, which claims to act in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza, the Lebanese Shiite Islamic movement has carried out 670 operations against the neighboring stateassured Hassan Nasrallah.
