What is Sengoku Youkoe about?

Sengoku Youko was a very popular manga in Japan, which was published in 2007 and continued its story until 2014 when the magazine stopped publishing. However, it was moved to Comic Blade magazine, where it continued (online only) until its completion two years later. In total, it had 17 compilation volumes.

“The world is divided into two factions: humans and monsters called katawara. Despite being a katawara, Tama loves humans and vows to protect them from evil, even if it means facing his own kind. His half-brother Jinka, however, hates humans, despite being basically one of them. The brothers are accompanied by a cowardly swordsman named Shinsuke, who wants to learn to be strong,” explains the synopsis of the anime.
