43% of Iowa Republicans support Haley “Vote for Biden”
About half of Iowa voters who support former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in the 2024 U.S. presidential election say they will vote for Democratic President Joe Biden rather than Trump in the general election even if former President Donald Trump is confirmed as the Republican candidate in the Republican presidential primary. An investigation was conducted.
According to the American political media The Hill on the 14th (local time), 43% of Iowa Republican Party members support Haley in a joint poll with the Des Moines Register and Media Compol released by NBC News the day before the Iowa caucuses. He responded that if Trump is chosen as the presidential candidate, he will vote for Biden.
On the other hand, only 23% of respondents said they would vote for Trump. The survey found that 8% of respondents would vote for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy.
However, among Republicans who plan to participate in the Iowa caucuses, 71% said they would vote for Trump, and 11% said they would vote for Biden.
Ann Selzer, a public opinion poll expert who conducted this survey, told NBC, “Haley is stimulating anti-Trump votes,” and added, “She is doing a good job of targeting voters who define herself as anti-Trump.”
Additionally, 74% of Iowa Republicans who participated in the poll predicted that Trump would win the presidential election despite judicial risks, while 23% said he would lose to Biden. Among Haley supporters, 54% said it would be difficult for Trump to win due to judicial risks, while 42% said he could win.
The NBC News, Des Moines Register, and Media Compol poll was conducted on 705 Iowa Republican Party members from the 7th to the 12th, and the margin of sampling error was ±3.7 percentage points.
