There are many plants that adapt to these characteristics, we give you five options to take into account.

Lavender

A perfect aromatic for the heat of summer. From the Lamiaceae family, it is a perennial shrub that reaches one and a half meters in height. It has a simple beauty and its scent is one of those characteristic aromas of the summer.

Lavender is a sunny plant that needs little water. It produces purple flowers that give off a pleasant scent and work as a natural repellent for some insects.

In fact, it is one of the plants that is said to repel mosquitoes and flies, but attract bees. As if that wasn’t enough, lavender not only tolerates heat, but also cold, managing to withstand temperatures below zero.

Geranium

It is one of the most resistant outdoor plants, it needs a lot of light and is much appreciated for decorating balconies, terraces and gardens.

It is ideal to grow in pots, although it can also be planted in open ground. They require very little attention, precisely because they resist heat and low water levels.

The most popular variety is Pelargonium hortorum. Of course you have to be careful above 30 degrees Celsius, which is too hot.

Chinese jasmine or country jasmine

Another heat-tolerant aromatic plant that grows best in full sun. It is a semi-perennial climbing shrub (it loses its leaves in intense cold) with fine stems that can reach 12 meters in length.

The leaves are dark green. The star-shaped white flowers are fragrant and appear in clusters. Its aroma manages to fill the space around it.

It is a very strong and resistant plant, which grows without problems in any soil and even if it is not watered too much. It resists heat and frost. It has slow growth.

Cactus

What seems obvious is: cacti are highly resistant to full sun. They are called plants succulent which are characterized by the ability to store water.

They are an icon of deserts and arid regions, thanks to their adaptation to survive in dry, sunny conditions.

Cacti have an exotic appearance and great variety. They may or may not produce flowers, have more or less long spikes. They are ideal for those who need low maintenance systems.

Chinese rose or hibiscus

“Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, commonly called China rose, cayenne pepper, poppy, hibiscus, among other names, is a deciduous shrub in the Malvaceae family, native to eastern Asia,” Wikipedia indicates.

It is a plant that prefers direct sun, although it can also be planted in partial shade, although it blooms with difficulty there. In the sun the flowers will develop in all their splendor.
