Brother Benanti majored in engineering at Italy’s prestigious University of La Sapienza, but after dropping out of college a year before receiving his degree, he became a priest. He currently serves as Pope Francis’ advisor on AI ethics. He is also participating as the only Italian member of the UN’s ‘AI High-Level Advisory Body’, where 38 experts from each country gather to discuss the risks, challenges, and opportunities of AI.
