New Hampshire primary D-1… Biden and Haley used as material to attack simultaneously
“When I took office, I was almost dead.”

A day before the New Hampshire primary, former U.S. President Donald Trump suddenly mentioned Otto Warmbier, who died after being detained in North Korea.

Former President Trump posted a post on his social media platform Truth Social on the 22nd (local time) and claimed, “If it were not for the power of the Trump administration, we would never have seen Otto alive again.”

Warmbier is an American college student who was detained after visiting North Korea in 2016. After about 1 year and 5 months of detention, he was released in a coma in June 2017 during the Trump administration, but died just over a week after his release.

Former President Trump said, “He (Warmbier) was detained during the Obama and Biden administrations,” and claimed, “That was the time when an agreement with North Korea should have been reached for his release.” Responsibility for Warmbier’s death was placed on the Obama administration and President Biden, who was vice president at the time.

He then said, “Nikki only talked but didn’t act,” and also turned his attention to former Ambassador Haley, his rival in the Republican primary. Former Ambassador Haley served as ambassador from January 2017 to December 2018 during the Trump administration.

Former President Trump said, “I brought him (Wambier) out. “But by the time I took office, he was close to death.” He ended his writing by saying, “God bless Otto.”

The remarks came a day before the New Hampshire primary, which is considered a weathervane of public sentiment in the presidential election. With the recent resignation of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the Republican primary will be a two-way race against former Ambassador Haley, with former President Trump having an absolute advantage.

Former President Trump met face-to-face with North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un three times in total, including two official meetings, during his term in office, and even after leaving office, he showed off his close relationship with Chairman Kim on several official occasions.
