Dramatic search in Chile for an Argentinian who threw himself into the sea to rescue his cousin and was dragged by the current

A The Argentine is missing in Chile since Sunday, when he decided to dive into the sea to rescue his cousin who accidentally fell into the water, on Marbella beach in Santo Domingo, Valparaíso.

The missing man has been identified as David Soto Rosas, 30 years old, and when he jumped into the water he was dragged by the current, which made it impossible for him to defend himself from the tide and he was never seen again by his family or by the rescuers.

The 18-year-old was rescued by firefighters and taken to an area hospital.

Meanwhile, the rescue protocol of the Chilean security forces has been activated in the area to find Soto Rosas. To support the searches, a Navy helicopter and ground patrols were sent, as well as the mobilization of firefighters, police and municipal staff.

The disappearance of this Argentine occurs at the same time as a 25-year-old young man is searched in Claromecó, after having rowed into the sea and not returning.
