“Trump VS Biden, a rematch no one wants… “There is a better choice”
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who is running in the Republican primary for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, launched a TV advertisement targeting her home state, South Carolina.
This advertisement, which was released on former Ambassador Haley’s YouTube account on the 24th (local time), is titled ‘Hayley’s story starts right now.’ From the start, it takes aim at U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.
The advertisement first shows President Biden looking down from the podium and the phrase, “Biden, you’re too old.” Afterwards, he looks at former President Trump with a dissatisfied expression and says, “Trump, there’s too much chaos.”
Former Ambassador Haley lost to former President Trump in both the first and second Republican primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire. In particular, the loss in the New Hampshire primary, which took the form of a primary election rather than a party member vote, is considered to be a huge blow.
While former President Trump won both the first and second Republican primaries, there is already a prevailing view in the American political world that this presidential election is viewed as a ‘return match’ with President Biden, the Democratic Party’s only leading candidate.
Former Ambassador Haley’s advertisement appears to have aimed for this very point. The video then moves on to a scene where President Biden and former President Trump stand side by side on the podium, and defines it as “a rematch that no one wants.”
He continued, “There are better options for a better future,” and “Her (Haley)’s story started right here. “America’s youngest governor, conservative Republican.” He served as governor of South Carolina.
“Nikki Haley will cut taxes, close borders, and defeat the communist threat from China,” the ad ends the video, adding, “Strength and pride, a new chapter for America.”
Meanwhile, after the New Hampshire primary held on the 23rd, pressure for former Ambassador Haley to resign is growing both inside and outside the Republican Party. If he fails to achieve meaningful results in his home state of South Carolina, his chances of completing the primary are expected to become even more difficult.
