The life of Griselda Blanco became a topic of conversation again in Latin America after the arrival of Netflix from the miniseries Griselda in which the Colombian actress Sofía Vergara plays the protagonist.
The “godmother of cocaine”, the one who founded the Medellín cartel (Colombia) in the mid-1970s, is said to have been killed for the first time at the age of 12. Approximately 250 deaths are attributed to him.
But one day he died in the same way he had killed. And three of his four children suffered the same fate.
The last day of Griselda Blanco
In 2012, Griselda had been living illegally in Colombia for years. She was released in 2004 for health reasons and deported to her hometown to settle there.
After a period of relative peace, on September 3 of that year his life ended tragically.
On the afternoon of September 3, the 69-year-old woman left a butcher’s shop with her pregnant ex-daughter-in-law and two hitmen on a motorbike intercepted her. One of them, aged around 25, got out of the vehicle and shot him twice in the head..
They killed Griselda the same way she had ordered her hitmen to be used during her drug tenure.
Blanco had just spent 300,000 pesos on meat at a place called Cardiso, located on the corner of Thirtieth Street, when the gunman who shot him got back on his motorcycle and disappeared from sight.
With the help of her ex-daughter-in-law, who remained unharmed by the attack, Blanco was transferred to the Belén Intermediate Unit, where she eventually died.
Although the cause of her murder is unconfirmed, Blanco is believed to have been murdered by a do the math.
On the day of her funeral, the Godmother was greeted by a crowd of people. Eight men carried on their shoulders the coffin in which his body was found from the altar of the Jardines Montesacro temple to the field where they buried him.
Surprisingly, before remaining forever in the underground, a mariachi group sang the song “Eternal Love”.
How Griselda Blanco’s children died
Griselda had four children: Dixon, Uber and Osvaldo with Carlos Trujilloa forger of documents for travelers to the United States, and Michele Corleonewith the hitman Darío Sepúlveda. The first three are dead.
In a 2008 article about the drug lord’s criminal career, the Miami News Times confirmed that his eldest sons (Dixon, Uber and Osvaldo) were brutally murdered “allegedly in retaliation” by Blanco’s enemies.
Dixon, the eldest, was shot dead shortly after gaining his freedom in 1992. The reasons and manner are not known, however the Netflix series suggests it occurred after an attack on a public street.
Uber was allegedly killed in an alleged showdown while in prison. And Osvaldo, or “Ozzie”, as he was known, was allegedly murdered in a bowling alley by a group of hitmen.
The fourth child: Michael Corleone
fourth son of Blanco, Michele Corleone, is alive and is said to have withstood seven attacks against him. Today he lives in the United States with his wife Marie and their three children.
Michael, named after the character in the film The Godfather, was a regular visitor to Instagram, a social network where he had more than 200,000 followers.
Griselda is told that Michael was kept away from his mother’s dirty business thanks to his father, Darío, who would later be murdered in Medellín by two men disguised as police officers. It is believed that Blanco may have had something to do with his death.
Today Michaek runs a social brand called Pure Blanco and owns the cannabis company Blanco Family Fincas.
