The opposition presidential candidate in Venezuela, Maria Corina Machadohe does not give up or beat around the bush and goes straight to the hearts of the citizens to ratify that he will remain until the end of the mandate that they entrusted to him in the primaries of October 22nd, when he obtained 92% of the votes and became the figure capable of defeating Nicolás Maduro at the polls this year, despite the disqualification that this regime illegally and unconstitutionally imposed on him.

Under a strong sun and a temperature of 35 degrees, the candidate called a press conference this Monday in the street in front of her electoral headquarters because there was not enough space between the opposition leaders and activists who had gone to the urbanization of Altamira in Caracas to express their unlimited solidarity and support.

“There are millions of Venezuelans here who want change and who voted in the primaries for my candidacy to defeat Maduro. There are no elections without me, that is, without the mandate of the people who voted to remove Maduro. And the regime underestimated him,” Machado underlined.

Rain or shine “this year we will go to the elections and I will defeat Maduro, whether you like it or not, whether you want it or not, we will force him to face the polls”, he underlined, warning that after the disqualification “other obstacles and maneuvers will come” to demoralize and divide us.”

Last Friday, which the opposition calls “Red Friday”, the Chavista Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) issued a ruling against Machado and another separately against Henrique Capriles, banning his candidacy for 15 years under the lawalleged charges of corruption and treason.

All jurists agree that the measure presents five defects of nullity and that the candidate concerned qualifies as a “criminal legal measure” to remove her from the electoral path.

Negotiations suspended

María Corina did not want to reveal the strategy she will maintain in the negotiation process of the Barbados Agreement, with whose chief negotiator Gerardo Blyde she holds daily talks and with heads of external governments. “I will not pre-empt our actions,” she said when asked by reporters.

The Vente Venezuela party, founded by María Corina, is not a member of the Barbados negotiating table, but believes that it has been violated and that the Maduro regime has not respected the signed agreements.

“We will advance the Barbados Compact. The people who elected me will have representation at the table. We will ensure that this mandate is respected at the negotiating table. “We will move forward in the midst of adversity, in the midst of negotiating symmetries to win,” she said.

He assured that he will continue with his plan to train 600,000 activists (600 thousand) defend your candidacy at the polling stations. “I will send you lines to train at the electoral school.” And he called on everyone to take the initiative to form their own “command” on every corner and block to strengthen the organization.

He said the key to confronting the regime is strength and unity, even if it may sound trivial. “With our strength and organization we will achieve an incomparable balance against the Maduro regime to win the presidential elections.”

He thanked the foreign governments that have expressed their support and solidarity with their cause. “I haven’t had enough to answer that many international calls” and “I hope there are many more to come.”

Divisions in Chavismo?

He revealed that the base of Chavismo and the middle cadres of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) expressed their support for his candidacy, which it made the dome shake who is not resigned to leaving power.

He also said the military supports change and transition in Venezuela, without the simple fact of wanting change for the country implying a conspiracy or coup attempt.

He spoke of retired soldiers and other active members whom the regime humiliated by parading them naked in the courtyard of the Caracas Military Academy. He said that everyone fits into his project of change, but warned that the resentful, those who hate, the wicked and those seeking revenge should abstain, with them “there is no place in our project of transition”.

“Our struggle is spiritual. “We are moved by compassion, justice and love,” she said.

Among the negotiation options that loom on the horizon The candidate challenged Maduro to negotiate with her the elections. “Don’t underestimate our strength.”

What stands out in her speech is the enthusiasm after the deluge produced by a blow such as the ban on her candidacy, which she believes will be overturned.

The judicial “Red Friday” served to promote the unity of the opposition, which proved reluctant and suspicious in supporting María Corina’s candidacy despite having triumphed in the primaries with 92% of the votes.

All the leaders of the United Platform and those who are not part of the coalition have united to support the candidate. There they stoically endured the comfort and warmth of the big drop with her until the end as she spoke to the press.

With this measure, the Maduro regime unified the opposition while trying to divide it with the disqualification of María Corina, the candidate said.
