In an attempt to fill in some explanation of internal consumption the spectacular military offensive in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin appealed to the concept of denazification of that town. A narrative apparently created by one of the regime’s toughest hawks, Nikolai Patrushev, who heads the National Security Council.
The purpose of the story is to wrap up the relentless attack on the Ukrainians with Russia’s reasonable glory in fighting the Third Reich during World War II. Russia once again rescued Europe.
In political terms, the concept implies the intention of overthrow the presidential government Volodymyr Zelenskand who will be, in this story, the best known of the Ukrainian Nazis. In his place will put a man of his own as in 2010 along with the corrupt pro-Russian Viktor Yanukovych, who was ousted from power by a heroic popular rebellion four years later.
The Jewish character and direct descendants of the victims of the Ukrainian president’s holocaust, showed the precariousness of the argument that now, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Putin’s well -known spokesman, is trying to fix the obscene comment about the Jew that Hitler’s character.
Whatever, though, the moral scandal that handling one of the greatest tragedies in human history means and the insult it caused to the Jews, the whole episode shows from the gut of the regime itself. the weaknesses to form a position that makes sense in this war.
That huge loss may further explain the demoralization displayed by the Russian troops on the front. Understanding why you might die is directly related to the stature of the mission.
Another serious aspect of the ridiculous and its defense is the belittling of the holocaust. If everything is Nazi, nothing. Lavrov and his leaders betrayed the deeds of their own people in the Great Patriotic War, as that fire was called in Russia.
This skid should come as no surprise. The efforts of authoritarian regimes and their aspirants to rewrite history by removing rapes and massacres from their moral consequences to make it a political tool aimed at destroying the opposite.
However, history is not very easy to manipulate and is often very detrimental to those who try. imitating what they denounced.
So, if we take the Nazi experience to its true scale of horrors and abuses, of systematic cruelty to innocent people, of using a powerful military structure to occupy territories, ignore the rights. of its inhabitants, killing and hiding corpses, it remains clear that, in any case, what should be denazified is the Kremlin.
