A young man used the very expensive Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses on the New York subway, another passenger recorded it and the video quickly went viral on X.
In the clip you can see who the tech influencer would be Nikias Molina typing in the air and swiping a screen that only he can see across devices. More like a science fiction movie than ever.
It is the first impressive example of how humans could be seen in the future, when smartphones will be partially replaced by glasses with which one can work or consume content “in the air”.

What are Apple Vision Pro glasses?
Earlier this month, Apple stores in the US put the Vision Pro, its mixed reality glasses, on sale. It’s its first major release since the Apple Watch nine years ago.
The arrival of the Vision Pro represents a milestone for lovers of virtual or augmented reality, who see this technology as the next chapter of Internet life after smartphones.
Reviewers definitely recognize a “wow” factor by noting its cutting-edge image quality and the joy of opening and closing apps floating in space using just your eyes and fingers. However, the glasses are heavy, mess up hair and require a bulky battery, they added.
Apple sees the Vision Pro as its first foray into “spatial computing,” declining to use the term virtual reality typically associated with tech enthusiasts.
The company said there are 600 apps and games specifically designed for the Vision Pro, along with one million compatible apps.
Disney has partnered with Apple and will provide 150 films in 3D at launch, both companies have announced. Netflix, Spotify and Google have refused to modify their apps to fit glasses, for now.
How much does the Apple Vision Pro cost?
They cost $3,499. Given its high cost, as well as the limited success of similar, cheaper launches from Meta (Facebook’s parent company), early reviews have raised doubts about whether the Vision Pro will be a game-changer, at least for now.
Vision Pro is an “extraordinary” product, technology website The Verge wrote about it. Although it also “represents a series of major trade-offs” that are “impossible to ignore,” he added.
It’s “an impressive product, many years and billions of dollars in the making,” but “even after trying it, I still have no idea who or what this thing is supposed to be for,” he wrote. on his part, the American newspaper The New York Times.
“Crazy”
The tweet, shared by the account @haig98, has had more than 50 million views on X.
Among his two thousand comments, Molina’s response to a tweet that questioned the veracity of the gesture stands out. In his response, the young man shares an incredible video of what he actually saw.

One of the most “liked” responses is from a person who highlights how the young man was encouraged to use such an expensive product on the New York subway: “A guy casually carrying $3,500 on the New York subway. Crazy”.
Another, along the same lines, wrote: “At the cost of $3,500, I’m surprised we haven’t seen a video of one of these guys stealing it yet.”
I’m somewhere between “good God, that sounds stupid” and “can I try though?”

There are also those who were “concerned” about the boy’s eyesight.: “Ophthalmologists are about to get a pay raise in the next 3-5 years.”
There was also no shortage of those who highlighted the appearance of the passenger with glasses on the subway: “I’m halfway between “My God, it seems stupid” and “Can I try?” Or the fatalists: “With such devices, The world will be more isolated and lonely. “The long-term impact of this is going to be terrible and crazy.”
