Why you shouldn’t mix moisturizer with sunscreen

If a moisturizer were added to sunscreen, it would alter its barrier protective against solar radiation. On the other hand, this would prevent the rest of the applied products from penetrating the skin.

A second reason could be that you are not applying enough product to your skin. By mixing them, in any proportion, you will use less than your skin needs.

It is clear that both products are designed to perform different functions and, if mixed, could lose their properties and reduce their effectiveness. The composition of both can be changed and affect their composition effectiveness.

What should be applied first: moisturizer or sunscreen?

According to various portals dedicated to skin care and the companies producing these products, the first thing to apply is hydration of the skin.

It is equally important to know the absorption time between the application of one and the other and wait a few minutes for them to act on the skin.
