In the last few hours it has become known that Germany will receive from the United Kingdom the prototype of the most powerful land warfare vehicle known so far: Challenger 3.
The tank produced by Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land (RBSL)a company set up by the English BAE Systems and German Rheinmetall will arrive in the German country to improve the “2”, in service since 1994.
More than one hundred available predecessors of the vehicle will be modified to become Challenger 3 and will be available by 2027.
How is Challenger 3?
This is a new generation car taken into consideration by the strategic director of RBSL, Rory Breen“NATO’s best tank.”
As reported by Breaking Defense, the Challenger 3 “will provide a digital, network-enabled main battle tank, offering the soldier a revolutionary capacity”.
As new features, the “3” incorporates modular armor that allows specific parts of the tank to be quickly removed and replaced and a protection system that detects incoming projectiles and intercepts them before impact.
The Challenger 3 will arrive in Germany as the country hosts state-of-the-art test facilities due to its rich history of tank manufacturing.
