Two days after the kidnapping in Santiago de Chile of the lieutenant colonel, retired from the Venezuelan army, Ronald Ojeda Moreno, the authorities of the country presided over by Gabriel Boric still have no other clues, even if this Friday the Prosecutor’s Office identified two of the used cars . Ojeda, opponent of Chavismo, He was an asylum seeker in Chile and was kidnapped by men posing as local police officers.

This Friday, the Carabineros received a complaint from another Venezuelan military officer who was a former asylum seeker, who in Talca claimed to know Ojeda and “to be afraid” that something similar would happen to him, which is why protection measures were put in place with periodic checks at his home. The soldier presented himself at the Fourth Carabineros Police Station in Talca to file a complaint. “I fear for my life,” he said. The Prosecutor’s Office accepted his request for protection.

Chile’s Interior Minister, Carolina Tohá, confirmed the new request to the Government following the kidnapping this week of Ronald Ojeda Moreno. “These are things that the government understands and all people who find themselves in these conditions and express this concern will receive support,” the official said.

Ojeda Moreno He was on the list of those persecuted by Nicolás Maduro. And the Chilean government, as soon as it learned of his kidnapping, tightened border controls to prevent him from being taken out of the country. All suspicions point to an operation by the intelligence troops of the Caracas regime.

From the examination of security cameras, both on the highways and on traffic in the streets near the northern area of the Chilean capital, two patents associated with the kidnapping were identified.

The vehicles, although not found, according to the examination carried out by the police, do not have a pending theft order. The same thing happened with the only car found so far, on the Costanera Norte, which turned out to have a cloned license plate. Another expert opinion relevant to the investigations will be that which emerges from the analysis of the victim’s cell phone, already being examined by investigators.

So far, however, they have not found any messages containing threats or facts that suggest he has had any type of dispute with a criminal gang.

A planned kidnapping

Along the same lines, those who knew the testimonies of his relatives, Ojeda would not have warned those close to him to feel threatened or monitored. The experts, however, issue a warning, because the methods and times in which the kidnapping was carried out reflected previous preparation and they acted knowing that the victim was at home, and completely unprepared.

The government of Chile, after receiving the report from the Court of Guarantee of Santiago, reported that Ojeda “He was taken away tied hand and foot, noting that the perpetrators of the incident were carrying firearms and clothing similar to those used by the Chilean investigative police.” They add that “they took him away by force in the vehicle in which they were traveling, to a currently unknown location.”

Among the procedures that the government has asked the Prosecutor’s Office to do is to notify the Special Investigation Brigade to prepare a planimetric assessment, determine the places where the events occurred and carry out a photometric recognition of the security cameras that may have carried them out. the kidnapping was recorded.

The case is still open more questionsboth to investigators, police and government authorities, where knowledge of the conspiracy behind the kidnapping remains unsolved.

The director of the Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, said yesterday that all his troops “are somehow committed and concentrated to find out where Ojeda Moreno is.” He assured that “particularly the borders, ports, airports, wherever there may be a route of escape or exit” will be strengthened.

The Minister of Justice, Luis Cordero, declared last night, in a conversation with CNN Chile, that the kidnapping of Ojeda Moreno is “abnormal for the country and that its immediate clarification is a priority for the Executive”.
