The young people had been missing since February 19th. They left Baird’s house in Paddington that day and never returned.

They began to suspect that something might have happened to them when they found their bloody belongings in a garbage bin 30 kilometers from where they left.

The prime suspect is Jesse’s ex-boyfriend, a police officer named Beaumont Lamarre-Condon (28), who is detained and would have helped investigators find the bodies. Lamarre-Condon was reportedly a senior officer attached to a specialist command in New South Wales.

The bodies were found in surf bags and under rubble in the town of Bungonia. It will be confirmed – or not – whether they belong to the pair when they are analyzed, CNN reported.

“Every day, every hour has been an agonizing wait, so I am relieved for the families,” the police spokesperson added to his story.

Baird was a former Network 10 television presenter and Davies a flight attendant.

Two counts of murder

Lamarre-Condon faces two counts of murder. The police officer appeared in court on Friday 23 February after his name appeared in local media reporting the couple’s disappearance.

“This has now been compared ballistically to a New South Wales Police firearm (…) and that firearm belongs to the 28-year-old man who was charged today,” confirmed Friday 23 February the Detective Superintendent of Police. Daniel Doherty.

Days later he found himself at Baird’s house blood, a bullet and a fired cartridge. Police also found the van that Lamarre-Condon allegedly rented to transport the bodies, but it is not known what was inside.

The investigations are ascertaining whether it was a “home style accident” after neighbors said they heard an argument at their home.
