The lie has short legs, says the popular saying, which does not lose its wisdom even if it is repeated. Of course not everyone agrees, because they stay inside the world of deception; and in Ireland there is an example.
This is the case of a woman who lost her request 820 thousand dollars for injuries allegedly suffered during a car accident because he was unable to support his lie.
Kamila Grabska, we’re talking about, sued an insurance company claiming she had back and neck injuries prevented from working for more than five years and even play with their children.
He stated, in his complaint, that he remained with the “disabling” condition. after the car he was traveling in was rear-ended in an accident in 2017.
However, the woman’s request was rejected by a judge at the High Court in Limerick after a photograph emerged showing Grabska throwing a 1.5 meter fir tree at a charity event in January 2018.
The image was published in a national newspaper and, although Grabska claimed she was still suffering from her injuries, Judge Carmel Stewart rejected his request partly due to the “graphic nature” of the image.
“It’s a very large natural Christmas tree elor throw with a very agile movement”The judge told the court, according to the Irish Independent newspaper.
“I’m afraid I cannot help but conclude that the claims were totally exaggerated. On this basis, pI propose to dismiss the appeal“, ruled the magistrate.
The insurance company also presented to the court evidence that the woman, 36 years old and mother of two children, had spoken to doctors the next day to win the Christmas tree throwing competition.
In that consultation Grabska had stated this I could no longer lift a heavy bag and that he was in constant, excruciating pain. Although, of course, she never mentioned the trees.
The woman he quit his job and received disability payments, as detailed in court.
His lawsuit against the insurance company involved loss of past and future income, and Grabksa sometimes claimed that I couldn’t get out of bed until noon. She said that her husband had to bring her medicine.
He denied faking the injuries and told the court that was the case “trying to live a normal life” and that he was still in pain despite appearing happy in the photographs.
Another clear proof of his deception was a video in which Grabska is seen train your dog in a park for more than an hour.
The judge ultimately dismissed the case, ruling that Grabska’s behavior after the collision was “completely at odds” with claims she had made about her injuries.
