David Foster Wallace was an American writer recognized for his work “The Neverending Joke”, positioned among the 100 best English-language novels written between 1923 and 2006, and one of the most important of the 20th century.
His first book, “The broom of the system”, was published in 1987. He wrote it as his thesis when he was studying philosophy and English studies at Amherst College. He also holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona, a subject on which he later taught at Pomona College in Claremont.
