Search for “terrorists” in the West Bank following the Gaza Strip… A total of 3,450 people were arrested
Those arrested and released through hostage exchange also include five women and children.
The Israeli military, which is waging a fierce offensive in the West Bank of the Gaza Strip, arrested at least 22 Palestinians on the 5th (local time), including prisoners released under cease-fire negotiations in November last year, Xinhua News Agency reported, an Israeli military source said. It was reported quoting the words.
The “Palestinian Prisoners’ Club,” a non-governmental organization working with prisoners held in Israel, also officially announced the arrests. The arrests were made simultaneously in the West Bank’s Ramallah, Hebron, Nablus, Tulkarm, Qalqilia and Jericho, the statement said.
The group reported that captured Palestinian prisoners suffered torture, beatings, sabotage operations, widespread destruction of their homes and theft of their assets.
Among those arrested, the group said, Aman Nafeh and Hanan al-Barghouti were from the village of Khobar near Ramarashi and were both imprisoned in Israeli prisons and returned home through a prisoner exchange during temporary ceasefire negotiations in November last year.
Also arrested was Mona Abu Hussein, a former inmate from Abboud village.
According to Palestinian sources, a total of nine people have been arrested by the Israeli military after being released through hostage exchanges. Among them are three children and two women.
There were 105 Hamas hostages released through a temporary ceasefire last November, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thais, and 1 Filipino.
Negotiation organizations said that the number of Palestinian prisoners released by Israel was 240, of which 71 were women and 169 were children.
Regarding the arrests, Israeli military spokesman Avichai Adrae claimed through his X account that those arrested by Israeli authorities were suspects of “terrorist activities” in the West Bank.
In particular, Israeli intelligence claims that one of those arrested, Muhammad al-Tanzi, from the Balata refugee camp in Nablus, was soon planning to carry out a “terrorist operation” along with others.
On this day, the Israeli military arrested four wanted people in Khobar, Yatta, and Hebron, and three in Jericho, a military spokesman said.
Israel has arrested 3,450 people in the West Bank since the war against Hamas began, 1,500 of them Hamas members, Andrae said.
Tensions have continued to rise in the West Bank since the battle between Hamas and Israel began, and it has recently been revealed that the Israeli military, which devastated the Gaza Strip, is concentrating its firepower on this side.
