Brazil is facing two main vectors that will determine the future at a time when, according to him, global production chains are being restructured as a result of the war in Ukraine, Economy Minister Paulo Guedes said on Tuesday.
At the inauguration ceremony of the new board of directors of Anfavea, an association of automakers, Guedes said that on the one hand, the country is geographically close to North America and Europe, which will make it suitable for meeting the demands of the main global markets. On the other hand, the minister said that Brazil is also seen as a reliable partner geopolitically.
“We are facing a moment of geopolitical warfare that redefines Brazil as a logistically close partner and as a reliable partner for a liberal, stable, secure democracy and free market economy. It wants to integrate into the global economy,” he said.
He pointed out that for Brazil, “the time for reindustrialization is now”, when the government promotes tax cuts following increased collections and takes action to ensure the country’s commitment to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). and to advance the Mercosur agreement with the European Union.
