Queen Camila already has her Barbie: “They took 50 years away from me”

While the fate of Kate Middleton continues to raise questions, the queen consort, Camila from the UK, continues to do work consistent with his position. And in them he receives gifts. This Tuesday, for example, at the end of a party she received a Barbie doll with her likeness.

This is a “Barbie Camila”, a still unreleased version. Even though it is a special edition that would not belong to Mattel’s commercial collection, the toy bears the Barbie brand.

The wife of King Carlos III posed next to the doll during the celebration of Women of the World Foundation (WOW) of Camila herself. Both the 75-year-old queen and the doll wore an identical blue dress and the same black cloak and boots.

“They took fifty years from me (…) We should all have a Barbie,” Camila joked when she received a doll with blonde hair, like hers, and dressed exactly like her, at a reception at Buckingham Palace.

Among the guests at this reception, as part of the celebrations of International Women’s Day on March 8, were the Belgian Queen Mathilde and the Anglo-American actress Helen Mirrenwho is the narrator of the movie Barbie, released last year.

Mirren, 78, won the Oscar for best actress in 2007 after playing Queen Elizabeth II in the film The Queen. The actress herself also received a Barbie doll in her likeness last week on March 8, saying she was “completely impressed.”

It should be remembered that Camilla became queen consort on 8 September 2022 upon the ascension of Charles III following the death of Elizabeth II.

A curiosity

Although not from the Barbie collection, several dolls of another British royal figure are available on eBay: Princess Diana.

In several publications, perhaps the most curious, this is accompanied by a version of the young Prince Charles. The collection would be from the early eighties.

Both dolls are dressed as bridesmaids and are delivered in a very elegant blue box.
