Ang left drive in France, it was mostly consolidated for the legislative elections from June 12 to 19. Negotiations for an agreement for women parliamentarians between Jean Luc Mélenchon’s La France Insumisa and the Socialist Party take “a big step forward” overnight, according to one of the negotiators.

They negotiated overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday and the agreement will probably be announced in the next few hours. it will not include the full PS, and must be approved by the Party Council. The Socialist Elephants disagree with Mélenchon’s platform.

I think it’s over an agreement in principle”Between the two delegations on the distribution of electoral districts. The Socialist Party won a total of 70 constituencies, of which between 25 and 30 could easily win, which is the estimated number of deputies at present.

The PS National Council will approve a global political agreement in the next few hours, and he will decide whether to ratify it or not.

“New Popular Ecoologist and Social Union”

If this agreement is signed by PS, unite the communists, the environmentalists and, of course, the rebel rebels within a “New Popular Ecoologist and Social Union”.

All of them desire to obtain a majority in the legislature. If that happens, the National Assembly will push President Emmanuel Macron a residence and the leader of France Insoumise, Jean Luc Mélenchon, an angry former socialist, would become Prime Minister of France.

From Tuesday morning, the tension was obvious. The pressure exerted by the Rebellious was close to an ultimatum. The agreement “must end now”, recalled Deputy Éric Coquerel, one of the negotiators.

“At some point you have to campaign,” hammered out Manuel Bompard to Franceinfo, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s campaign manager. The deadlines for sending posters and brochures to the printery are approaching. Nominations for the June 12 and 19 legislative elections will be made from May 16 to 20.

“We are a few steps away from a historic agreement,” Pierre Jouvet said Tuesday morning. But the chief negotiator admitted at the same time, in Europe 1, that “some adjustments remain” and the PS would be “respected”.

The main locks is programmatic, especially the right to disobey certain rules in Europe. And also about the number of constituents.

“It has been signed but there is a risk of upset with the National Council”, the confidence of an elected Socialist, who hopes to get at least 100 electoral districts in total. But discussions on the substance continue in PS.

“I called on the PS elephants to understand French. Understand those who are tired of moving companies, ”said communist leader Fabian Roussel.

The “agreement in principle” must be approved by the National Council of the Socialist Party today.

The “elephants” fight

But Jean Christophe Cambadelis, former PS general secretary, was against the agreement. “It’s an agreement that doesn’t allow PS to exist that way. Reissue it. The PS base is strongly not in favor of this agreement, ”he announced on Europe 1 radio.

Stephane Le Foll, another historical socialist and close friend of Francois Hollande, said he would leave the PS “if the party continues what it is.”

“This is a party that has turned its back on its history, on its beliefs. I will leave if it continues,” he announced. He opposed the alliance with Mélenchon and was called “rebuild the left, withdraw a political line that has not been followed for 5 years ”.

President Emmanuel Macron will resume his duty on Saturday next for another five years. But Prime Minister Jean Castex’s government continues until May 13, when Macron’s term ends.
