How many types of eclipses are there?

There are two types of eclipses: there are solar eclipses and there are lunar eclipses.

THE solar eclipses They occur when the Moon comes into the path of the Sun’s light and casts its shadow on the Earth. That’s why it seems like night turns into broad day.

A solar eclipse It happens when the Moon is in its phase New moon and its orbit around the Earth brings it in a straight line with the Sun and the Earth.

to exist three types of solar eclipse: total solar eclipse, partial solar eclipse, and annular or “ring of fire” solar eclipse.

In the lunar eclipses, Although the Earth, Sun and Moon also participate, the difference lies in the position of these stars. In this case the Earth is placed between the Sun and the Moon.

When we talk about a total lunar eclipse, the entire Moon falls into the darkest part shadow of the earth, called Umbrian.

There is also three types of lunar eclipse: penumbral lunar eclipse, partial lunar eclipse and total lunar eclipse.

When will the next eclipses be in 2024

Each year they usually occur between 4th and 7th eclipsesincluding solar and lunar highlights National Geographic in an article on the topic.

This year’s eclipse calendar includes, in total, Twenty past four: two lunar eclipses and two solar eclipses.

Until now, we could see a penumbral lunar eclipse (on the night between 24 and 25 March) and total solar eclipse this April 8th.

But the agenda continues. We see.

Partial lunar eclipse on September 18, 2024

The next eclipse will occur on the night of September 17-18, 2024 and this can be seen partial lunar eclipse in Europe, much of Asia, Africa, North America and South America.

Also in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans, as well as in Antarctica and the Arctic. At the moment of greatest shadow, the Moon will be at its zenith in northern Brazil. This eclipse will be slightly weaker than the one in March.

Annular solar eclipse of October 2, 2024

The last eclipse of the year will take place on October 2, 2024. It will be a Annular solar eclipse which can be observed in North America, much of South America, the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and also in Antarctica.

Annular eclipses or “rings of fire” They are similar to total eclipses, but because the Moon is at the farthest point of its orbit, it appears smaller and does not completely cover the Sun (some of its light surrounds the Moon’s shadow).
