Polo with Argentinian friends for Harry and cooking recipes for Meghan: the Duke and Duchess of Sussex launch two new “reality shows” on Netflix

The non-fiction projects are part of the couple’s multimillion-dollar deal with the American streaming giant, which will be renewed next year.

How is the project?

The first program is a cooking series, in which the Duchess will act as executive producer. The other will concern professional polo, a sport well practiced by the Duke.

Meghan’s cooking series will be directed by Michael Steed, best known for his work Anthony Bourdain’s acclaimed food show: Parts unknown.

Leah Hariton is listed as “showrunner” or lead producer. Hariton previously worked on an HBO cooking show starring a pop star Selena Gomez.

The Duchess of Sussex recently signed a deal with American podcast company Lemonade and announced a new lifestyle brandwhere they will sell everything from singles to jams. All “Meghan style”, this will make her even more of a millionaire. She already has more than 500,000 followers.

According to Netflix, Meghan’s series “will celebrate the pleasures of cooking and gardening, entertaining and friendship.”

The Sussexes are also working on a project that will “give viewers a gift “Unprecedented access to the world of professional polo”.

Harry, 39, is an avid gamer and plays near the couple’s home in Montecito.together with the Argentine Nacho Figueras. Both Harry and Meghan, 42, will serve as executive producers.

Miloš Balać, who worked on the Netflix show Welcome to Wrexham, is the showrunner.

“Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull back the curtain on the value and passion of sport, capture players and everything you need to compete at the highest levels,” we read in a statement.

The titles and release dates of the projects are awaited will be announced in the coming months.

The productivity of the dukes

Harry and Meghan signed a five-year production deal with Netflix in 2020, said to be worth $100 million. But his future in the company has sparked frequent speculation, especially in the British tabloids. Spotify terminated its agreement with the couple amid complaints about lack of production.
