The resonances of the bombs in Mariupol reached the tense and hopeful city called Zaporiya and located on the banks of the Dnipro River. Just fifty kilometers away, a nuclear plant is under the control of the Russian army and two battlefields – to the north and to the east – are a permanent threat to its population.
However, the residents of this area are friendly walking the streets, go to open bars for coffee and smoke hookahs and strive to give life to this extraordinary, and insane, time of war.
No one, however, in Ukraine has forgotten what is happening. The patriotic spirit is still on the surface and symbols have flooded the streets. in Zaporiya a large ukrainian flag crowns the town hall building and the wide avenue parallel to the river was lined with large billboards praising the local army and teasing enemy troops. This is war going on in ordinary everyday scenarios.
But anti-aircraft alarms continue to sound non-stop and Zaporiya is more sensitive. The thing is this is his chance to be the first port of call for those fleeing from Mariupol, the city where the Kremlin has been in ruins and relentlessly bombed since the beginning of the war. Zaporiya has been receiving survivors from the Azovstal steel plant since Monday.

evacuation
They probably possess one of the greatest examples of human resistance in this war. They spent 70 days underground, rationing of food and enduring all sorts of gunshot to their heads, and on Monday after the agreement between the UN, United States, Ukraine and Russia to create a humanitarian corridor, the first group of 150 of them arrived safely in this city.
They made it with what they had and then a winding journey. They had to travel only two hundred kilometers. But it took two days. Once he allowed them to leave the shelter, the Russian army put a “filter field” before them.
