“Former President Lula da Silva talks about the guilt of Ukraine or the West in the war. These are Russia’s attempts to distort the truth. It’s very simple: Russia has treacherously attacked Ukraine, the war is only on Ukrainian soil, Russia is killing civilians en masse. In an interview in March of this year, published yesterday by the US magazine “Time”, Lula said that Zelensky was as responsible for the conflict as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin shouldn’t have invaded Ukraine. But it’s not just Putin, the United States and the European Union are to blame. What is the reason for the invasion of Ukraine? NATO? USA? and Europe could have said: ‘Ukraine will not join NATO’. This could have solved the problem. ‘, added Lula.
The PT, who is expected to run for president again, argued that the Russian leader was wrong in launching the attacks, while emphasizing that Zelensky could act differently.

Yesterday, Ukraine’s ambassador to Brazil, Anatoliy Tkach, said the former president was “misinformed” on the matter. He also stated that he would request a meeting with the “respected ex-president of Brazil”.
Lula criticized the current President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on the cover of the American magazine, one of the most prestigious magazines in the world, and said that he encouraged racism in the country.
