Another major Chinese invasion of Taiwan’s air defense zone

The Taipei government on Friday reported another significant Chinese aviation attack on its air defense zone, the second largest in a single day of the year, with 18 aircraft.

The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense said this included 12 J-11 and J-16 fighter jets and 2 H-16 bombers.

This brings to more than 370 the number of Chinese aerial incursions since the beginning of the year.

On January 23, 39 Chinese aircraft entered Taiwan’s Air Defense Zone (ADIZ).

The Taiwan ministry said it used its own equipment to broadcast warnings and deploy air defense missile systems to monitor Chinese planes.

The island of Taiwan is living under the threat of an invasion from China, which considers it part of its territory to be recaptured someday, by force if necessary.

It provides data on this type of invasion in its air defense zone since September 2020.

In the last quarter of 2021, they increased, especially in October, with 196 recorded attacks and up to 56 aircraft a day.

Over the past year, theAFP recorded 969 aircraft attacks by China’s armed forces in the Taiwanese air defense zone, more than double than in 2020 (380).

L ‘ADIZ of Taiwan is different in its airspace. This area is wider and slightly overlaps withADIZ Chinese.
