The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said today that Russian forces have more than doubled the number of missiles in the Black Sea region.
According to ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, “There are currently seven launchers in the Black Sea with a total of 50 missiles.” According to the ministry, there were three missiles last week, for a total of 20 missiles.
The spokesperson also said that Russian ships in the Black Sea and Azov seas on the Ukrainian border continue to operate to isolate the region from hostilities, conduct reconnaissance and provide coastal fire support.
Today, the Russian-backed war in Ukraine enters its 75th day, focusing on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech in Moscow during the Victory Day celebrations to mark the 77th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Ukraine awaits attacks
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense said earlier in a report that “the probability of missile strikes across Ukraine is high”.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that at points on the border with Russia, it sees “continuing the transfer of personnel and military equipment for the replacement of units in Ukraine, which suffered significant losses.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that it attacked the Odessa region in the south of Ukraine with high-precision missiles and destroyed the helicopters.
Russian forces also launched attacks on Ukrainian military equipment in eastern regions such as Donetsk and Kharkiv. In the Zolote region, also to the east, a US-made radar station was reportedly destroyed by Russia.
In total, the Russians are said to have killed about 350 Ukrainian soldiers between yesterday and today.
