Ecuadorian Police announced on Tuesday that 200 prisoners were caught again who escaped in the midst of bloody chaos which left at least 44 inmates dead and several injured in a jail in the city of Santo Domingo.
“A total of 220 citizens escaped yesterday and so far 200 have been recaptured,” Police Operations Chief General Geovanny Ponce told the press.
Faced with this scenario, the government offers rewards up to $ 5,000 for information helpful in the goal of finding the 20 criminal fugitives still.
The commotion began in the early hours of last Monday, when a confrontation between the band Los Lobos and its rival R7 in the Bellavista jail, in Santo Domingo, about 80 kilometers from Quito.
