According to state radio CRTV, a plane with 11 people crashed into the forest yesterday in central Cameroon. Nobody survived.
CRTV said the plane, which was chartered by a private company responsible for maintaining the hydrocarbon pipelines, “carried eleven people and all died in the tragedy.”
“Firefighters worked hard to reach the scene, but unfortunately there were no survivors,” a transport ministry official, who asked not to be identified, told AFP.
The aircraft, the type and brand of which has not been disclosed, was connecting Yaoundé Nsimalen airport in the east of the country with Belabo.
It was found in the forest near Nanga Eboko, about 150 km northeast of Yaoundé, according to the Ministry of Transport.
The plane was chartered by Camaroon Oil Transportation Company SA (COTCO), the company responsible for maintaining an oil pipeline between Cameroon and Chad.
