Russia announces surrender of 265 Ukrainian Azovstal fighters

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that 265 Ukrainian soldiers, including many wounded, surrendered at the besieged Azovstal steelworks in the port city of Mariupol.

“In the last 24 hours, 265 fighters, 51 of them heavy, surrendered their weapons,” the ministry said in a statement.

The note states that people in need of care will be taken to a hospital in Novoazovsk.
