Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said today that Ukraine has “withdrawn” from negotiations with Moscow.

Rudenko, quoted by the Russian agency “Interfax”, declared that negotiations between the two countries would not take place in this way.

“Ukraine has de facto withdrawn from the negotiation process. Negotiations will not progress,” he said.

Last week, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky was “impossible” at the moment. The statement came shortly after the Ukrainian president said in an interview with the talk show “Porta a Porta” that he was ready to negotiate.

Armistice negotiations have been suspended since the end of March, when Ukraine promised not to join NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), but as long as it has a clear path to join the European Union and security guarantees by some of the international powers.

In addition to Rudenko’s statements, Peskov also complained about the West’s actions against Russia and said that the country’s presence disturbed the Western world.

“The existence of Russia bothers the West, which is ready to do anything so that Russia does not live as it wishes. If the country does not firmly defend its interests, it loses its sovereignty. The actions of Western countries are a war, it happens. “We consider unfriendly nations as enemies. It’s more accurate to show,” was quoted by “Interfax” as saying.
