The progression of monkeypox has had health authorities in Europe on alert, with several countries already reporting confirmed or suspected cases. Now the UK, where the first infections of the new outbreak have been reported, has confirmed local transmission of the disease.
British authorities have announced that they are currently registering daily infection pain and that patients have no history of traveling to West Africa, where this pathology is endemic.
“We’re looking at those cases they have no defined contact with an individual in West Africa, which is what we have seen in this country before, ”said UKHSA chief medical adviser Susan Hopkins.
