ROME, MAY 23 (ANSA) – Ukraine’s Defense Ministry intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin survived a thwarted attack on February 24, two months before the start of the war.
The action reportedly took place in the Caucasus region, which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and parts of southern Russia. So far, Moscow has not commented on the information.
“There was an attempt not so long ago. This is non-public information and an absolutely unsuccessful attempt.
But it really happened about 2 months ago,” Budanov said in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
“I repeat, this attempt was unsuccessful and there was no publicity about this event, but it took place,” the Ukrainian official added. . . .
Recently, Budanov reported that “Putin is seriously ill with cancer” and that a coup is already underway in Russia to remove him from power. However, the Kremlin denied the rumors about the alleged disease. (ANSA)
