This is a wild marathon A journey that began with the hunt for the attacker’s own grandmother and ended in one of the worst massacres – and more – at a school in the United States.
So are the 90 minutes of madness and horror which ended in 21 deaths and a nation once again shocked by the drama of weapons and their indiscriminate use, according to what Texas authorities have been able to rebuild.
Tuesday, 11.32 am: Equipped with a bulletproof vest and rifle, Salvador Ramos, 18, crashed his vehicle outside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, a town near the Mexican border with Texas with a high Latino population.
In fact, the young man, a student at a local high school, according to authoritiesthat’s not where his bloody tour began. He just shot his 66-year-old grandmother, in that same small town west of San Antonio, authorities said. The reason for now remains a mystery.

San Antonio University Health Hospital confirmed it admitted a woman at that age was in “critical condition” after the shooting, without confirming her identity.
According to witnesses, at 11:32 a.m., when the young man collapsed in front of the building, school authorities turned off the lights and asked everyone to remain quiet and calm.
The doors were locked and students escaped through a side door and hid in a courtyard, he said. New York Times Elisha Mata, who had a nephew at school at the time.
Lt. reported. Christopher Olivarez of the Texas Department of Public Safety said Wednesday that the teachers they broke the glass so that the men could also escape through the windowsin the midst of panic scenes.

Border patrol police teams were running toward the school, including about 15 members of a SWAT-style counterterrorism and tactical unit, Jason Owen, a senior Border Patrol officer in the area, told the AP agency.
12.23: Tension builds up. Parents of students are notified that they must pick up children from the local civic center. There, between screams and wailing, families waited for information about their loved ones.
13.06: The suspect identified as Salvador Rolando Ramos, 18, also a resident of Uvalde, was killed by police at the scene.
As reported by the AP, a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was about to start the hunt ran toward the school and shot the attacker, who was hiding behind the barricade. The young man died on the spot. Previously, he had killed 19 students and a teacher. As of Wednesday’s findings, all of the boys who died were in the same classroom: they were in the 4th grade.
In addition, it was reported that two policemen also sustained bullet wounds in the shootout with the child who attacked. One of them was shot in the head, according to Border Patrol sources. Both were hospitalized but in stable condition.
