Abu al-Hasan al-Kurashi, believed to be the new leader of the Islamic State (IS) terror group, has been arrested in Istanbul, according to Turkish portal OdaTV.
According to the vehicle, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to officially announce the takeover in the coming days.

According to the news of OdaTV, Istanbul Police Chief Zafer Aktaş personally directed the operation, which took place in “great secrecy” last week.
Al-Qurashi has been leading the Islamic State since March this year following the death of his predecessor, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Quarashi, who committed suicide during a US military operation in Idlib, Syria, in February.
